Foreclosure prevention for owner-occupants
The City's foreclosure prevention program is for owner-occupants. Call the hotline first; counselors and legal aid can explain the process for your case. We do not repeat funding amounts as available money.
Sheriff sales and HART
The Sheriff conducts sales and, through HART, explains that potential excess may exist after debts are settled and that homeowners can contact the Sheriff directly. We omit the office's street address because sources conflict; call or visit the official site.
Property records
property.phila.gov and Atlas show ownership, sales, permits and zoning. Assessed value is not market value.
PHFA statewide help
PHFA's foreclosure/HEMAP line is 1-800-342-2397. HEMAP is a repayable loan with eligibility rules, and a late application does not stop a foreclosure.
Where WorkWithBar fits
We are private, not a counselor, court program or law firm. A property review is optional and separate from these resources, and our form does not pause any proceeding.
Before you call
Have your loan number, any notice or court papers, and a rough household budget ready. Counselors can help even if you are unsure what stage you are in. If a sale date is listed, say so at the start of the call.
Selling instead
If you decide a sale fits better than keeping the home, discuss it with your counselor too. A property review with WorkWithBar is optional and separate.
